Inspiration

This was a anorexia docummentary i found on youtube done by students.



In this documentary i liked the way they interviewed lots of different people and got many different views. I Also like the fact they took a small clip from hollyoaks to help relate their topic to somethig well known to the public.Their music was also good as it fit in with what was hppening in the background.

We gave out 80 questionnaires and here were the results.

Email Channel 4

This was the email i sent to channel 4 asking permission to use a small clip from one of their documentaries .

Characters

Xanthe is going to be acting as our presenter.She will be doing all the interviews.He name in the documentary will be Alexandra Smith.

Colleen is going to be interviewed as a young distressed teenand talking about the troubles she went through because of something that happened on facebook.

Lisa is going to be taking us through her facebook and showing us what goes on.Lisa is only 11 so is under the age of being allowed to have facebook.

Luke is going to be doing a re-enactment as a teenage boy who is getting stalked .

Katie Piper

Katie was involved in a serious attack from a man she had met on face book.She was raped and then had acid thrown over her face . We want to show young children that dangerous people are on facebook so you really need to be careful .We would like to use a small clip from her documentary "My Beautiful Face ".

Target Audience

Gender

We are targeting both male and female as facebook is something that concerns both genders .We want to show the dangers of Facebook this can relate to both genders.


Race

We are targeting all races as facebook is a very multiracial social networking website and the topic we are covering can relate to all races.

Age

We are targeting two different ages .The first is young children from the age of 9-14 who are vulnerable and are not really ment to using facebook.We want to show them the dangers they can come across on facebook.We also want to target parents to see if they really know what their child is doing on facebook and show them how important it is for them to keep an eye out because facebook can be dangerous.

Cindy Jackson

Cindy Jackson was a women who was very inspired by barbie and had 47 operaions to try and look like her.

Barbie

On doing research about annorexia in young girls i cam across Barbie as an influence .I found this very interesting and thought this would be a good thing to base my documentary on as annorexia in young girls was a bit breif.I liked the idea that barbie is seen as a perfect women because on growning up mose girls have a barbie,Barbie is an inspiration to some young girls.This is wrong though because barbies body is physically impossible to achieve .

This was an artical i came across,itdoes not give out a good message to young girls because if they look at this celeb and she is being told she is to fat she needs to loose weight to be able to play a roll in a TV Program then they may feel if they are saying she is to fat then what must they think of me.

Choosing Documentary

I have looked at the syllabus and i have choosen to do a documentary as i thought this would be the most interesting because documentarys are based on real life situations . The first thing i done was a brain storm of the type of documentarys i would like to do.

I Then went on to brainstorm in more deatail.

After doing the brainstorming i really likes the idea of anorexia in your girls and that was the topic i wanted my documentary to be about.From this i went on to find more infomation about this topic.

Brainstorm

As our pervious ideas did not work .We All decided to start fresh and come up with a whole new idea.We discused this and thaught as Facebook is a worldwide social networking site that has become very popular over the last few years this would be a good topic to do.This was just a few ideas from facebook we came up with.

Location

Hammersmith

This is where we are going to be asking people on the street about their views on facebook .We Chose this place as it is easy for all off us to get to and it always busy on a saturday.

Pelican Newsagents

This is where we are going to be filming the re-enactment of the young boy getting stalked.

Computer Room

Here we will be filming the presenter as she introduces what is going to be happening in the documentary.

BBc Indent

As a group we decided we wanted to have something that introduces our documentary .We had a look through some and found one from the BBC we liked.We decided to use the indent with the flats(this is 2mins 37 seconds into the you tube video posted) as this is what comes on the BBC before a documentary and also flats portray real life and documentary's are based on real life issues.

Panorama As An Influence

In The Begginig of every panorama series there is about a 3o second slot were they breifly show the audience what therir documentry is going to be about . This is A convention that i really like and would like to do something similar in my documentry .

20/10/2009 Group Dissussion

Today me and my media group had a group meeting as we were still not sure of final idea and we was confused.

WWW

• We discused out previous idea about facebook and how it changes out culture,none of us really liked this idea and were not very enthusiastic about it.
• Our teacher suggested we start from scratch on a new idea ,we all like the idea on facebook so we done a brain storm of all the documentrys we could do on facebook and choose our favourite one.
• The final idea we chose was how young girls represent themselfs on facebook and how this could give out the wrong impression .
• We disscused the target audience and come to the conclusion that it would be targerted at parents and the children using facebook because the parents need to be aware of what their children are doing and the children need to be aware that although thay may not realise they could be sending out the wrong signals and this could bring them very negetive attention .
• We then allocated all of us some research to do overnight so we could present or ideas to the teacher.My job was to do some primary research I made a questionaire for the young children using facebook so we can find out what they think.

Overall i think this sesion went well as we have sorted out all the previous problems and now have a final idea.

My Group

I have now been put into a group with Xanthe Joseph ,Fiona McArthur and Colleen Nolan.We all has Ideas that link together. We put all of our ideas together and came up with the idea of the perfect women.

Xanthes idea was all about false identy ,this idea was looking at why do women feel the need to use make up and false attachments ,is itbecause they are inscure and using them to make them feel good ,or isit just because they want to inhance their image.She also looked at more serious changes women make like plastic surgry .We all liked this idea but thought we needed to go into a more persific area of this.We are going to be using the idea of using false attachments and make up to make the perfect women.

Fionas First idea was about facebook , we found this quite hard to fit into our idea so we used her second idea this was about how the media influnces young women and how the photos in magazines are all edited.We used this in our idea because we could relate how women look into the media to find the perfect women .

Colleens Idea was all about all about fenimism she wanted to promote this as knowone really knew what it was about. Her Second Idea was about eating disorders this also fitted in with my idea.

My idea was all about annorexia in young girls,i wanted to focus on how barbie could be an influence towards this as young girls grow up with barbie dolls.As we disussed this in the group we came across a problem as we did not kno any annorexic people that would be willing to tell us their story .But from this we took the idea of barbie as she is seen as a perfect women.

What They Really See .

This image shows us that annorexia is a serious thing and when they look in the mirror they dont see the truth they see the opposit.This Image made me want to find out what anoreix people really see.It made me want to know what is imbetween the mirror that makes themself seem alot bigger then they really are . Whats behind It all.

Looking Like Barbie: An Impossible Body Image

Barbie really doesn't look like a woman. Her form is perhaps best described as "woman-like."

There are many opinions on what Barbie's chest-waist-hip measurements would be if she were a real adult woman. I've seen 32-18-29, 36-18-38, 42-18-32...you get the picture. Basically, Barbie looks as though someone squeezed her middle like a tube of toothpaste -- so tight that the "flesh" at her waist was forced to her breasts and hips (but not to her thighs, of course).

Some say that a seven-foot woman with Barbie's proportions would weigh only 110 pounds. With so much of that weight concentrated in her chest, it's common to suggest that Barbie wouldn't be able to walk without tipping over.
